    Bankruptcy Software

I just wanted to post my opinion about some "Bankruptcy Software" that I purchased online. What a total scam it turned out to be!!! It was simply a bunch of pdf forms, the same forms anyone could download from the United States Bankruptcy Court website. It included instructions that were laughable at best. For example, many of the instructions for the various schedules were simply one paragraph stating "fill in the form with the information requested" etc. On top of that, the fillable pdfs were not even fillable for many portions of the forms provided, and those fields that could be filled in came out looking weird with different fonts and strange spacing.

I do not want to cause a stir or do anyting inappropriate by putting the name of the company here. I immediately requested a refund from the company and they refused. I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I doubt I'll get my money back or anything will happen but I think it is just terrible that this company can take advantage of people this way, especially those of us who are so financially vulnerable. The program was NOT software in any shape or form. Please be careful when purchasing these kinds of programs - I learned the hard way.

Oh yah. There is stuff listed right here on this forum in SPAM that is a rip off...so do beware what you click and what you buy.

Yes, I clearly made a huge mistake. I just read another post involving this company. The company's name is Standard Legal Network. I'm sure one of their reps will pop on here and attack me. I'm so angry right now I could scream. I wasn't even on page 4 of the petition when I couldn't use the fillable pdf their product provided (i.e., you couldn't insert check marks in boxes). I know nothing will come of my complaint and I will not get my money back, but I urge everyone to indeed be careful. How they can get away with calling their product "software" is simply beyond me.

Their website seems to suggest you had to have paid with a credit card (debit card) or PayPal.

Do a chargeback if they don't respond to your refund request acceptably.

Goods not as advertised. If questioned further, no comprehensive instructions included, fillable forms not fillable, forms not profession (font/type issues), etc.

Merchant refused to refund or make other arrangements to correct deficiency in product.

Since they are electronically distributed and thus can't be returned in a way, your bank may require you to submit an affidavit of destruction (meaning you deleted them and won't be using them).

It was about $50. I contacted my bank this morning and because I paid online they will not stop payment. Instead, they will initiate an investigation with the company and go from there. I will have to wait and see what the bank decides I guess. Here is the final paragraph of the email response I received from the company after demanding my money back:

"Your threats if we don't bend to your refund request is wholly unjustified.
We will not provide a refund under this circumstance, as it is not
warranted. You may contact whom ever you wish, we will be happy to provide
this entire series of emails correspondence to any agency."

I responded I was fine with them providing my emails to any agency. Sure, my emails may not have been polite but I did not use profanity or anything - I just called them on how faulty their product was. They would have been best served to simply refund my money but, they refused so I took the steps I felt necessary.
