    Medical Expenses etc...

My lawyer asked me to come to his office and bring all medical expenses and etc.. so that he can file my case , what kind of bills should I bring with me?

I would and did bring a list of my bills, but not the actual receipts of every payment and such. He wants to know your rent/mortgage, lights, water, cable, insurance, loans, car loans, and all that stuff. Just make him a list. Things such as light bill vary so I took my Quicken files and extracted the bills that varied put them to Excel and got a monthly average. If still in doubt, call him back for specifics. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

      ALL of them.

He is probably looking for the names & figures. This is important that you get everyone you owe money to so that no one is left off the petition. For example one hospital bill may have 5 other bills and doctors that go with that one incident and they all have different billing departments. You need to list them all. He has to send letters to all these creditors plus enter them on the schedules with the amounts you owe. You will also want to bring all the credit card bills. It works real well if you use the list from the credit bureau so you wont miss any.
If you have any contracts, like a phone to BK on, bring that too.

Remember you have the bills that you can't pay and you will file on them, and you have the bills that are cost of living. Two different categories.

I also paid a large medical bill overseas , do I have to include that? I have no problem substantiating it , all I have to do is get in touch with the Doctor and have him fax the receipt to me or to my lawyer right?

There is a section that allows a certain amount of exemption for doctors & dentists and you can inculde your health care premium if you have one. You wont need to show every co payment unless they ask for that.
