Which states allow Credit Profiling (Auto Insurance)

I've tried to google this and haven't had much luck. Does anyone know which states allow credit profiling for the purposes of car insurance? I live in Iowa myself and would be curious to know.

Go to your state's website and look for the Department of Insurance's section. They may have some information on that link/site. If not, look in the state section of your phone book, find the DOI and give them a call during a weekday.

The state of Iowa does allow auto insurance companies to use Personal Credit History to help determine rates and offers for products. Overall, however, Iowa auto insurance rates are determined by a combination of other factors including age, car type, driving record, location, and marital status. Iowa motorists with better driving records pay less than those with a accidents or tickets.

Just wanted to let you guys know we switched our auto insurance this last week to Nationwide and there was no problem with the BK. What was funny though was that they couldn't do renter's insurance becuase of the BK, but auto was no problem. We are in AZ if it matters.

I love stuff like that... I guess because you filed BK you are more likely to pretend to get robbed or push a friend down the stairs? There wouldn't be any other reason to deny you renters insurance.
If you had a hard time paying your bills in the past you must be getting ready for some massive insurance fraud!
