My lawyer is filing my Chapter 7 tomorrow, bringing six months of stress and worry to a close...kind of. My stress level has skyrocketed this week because I keep worrying that something will go wrong with the filing, like I forgot a creditor or the trustee will have a problem with my exemptions. My lawyer and I went through the paperwork front to back before we signed off on it, but still, I'm freaking out. Plus, I'm surrendering my car in the BK, which is hard for me, and I'm moving to a new place this weekend (downsizing from a two-bedroom apartment to a 200-sq. ft. efficiency), so there's stress all around.
How many other people have found themselves more stressed out than ever at the time of filing? Is it a normal reaction? I feel like I'm embarking on a new chapter in my life and while it's a good thing, it's also very difficult. In fact, it's harder than I thought it would be.
