Well... there is no cost to change your address with the Court. However, most Courts require that you "serve" the notice of address change on all your creditors (and everyone else on the current Creditor Matrix).

Some Courts will serve the notice for you (via the BNC), but I know that my Court didn't do that and I had so send out 50 envelopes (at $0.48 each). So, for me, while there was no Court cost, there was certainly a cost out of my pocket.

Perhaps your attorney will do it for "free" for you. Besides, it's your attorney who changes your address when you're represented.

The BNC is just the official Bankruptcy Noticing Center which processes "mail" for the Bankruptcy Courts.

We are talking about PACER which is the Public Access to Court Electronic Records. It is also known as CM/ECF and is basically the electronic "Docket" used by the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts. If you register for PACER, you can see what's going on with your case... at least to the extent where things are on the court "docket". (Things happening at the Trustee's office aren't on here, unless and until the Trustee needs to file some paper with the Court.)

As for your address change, it's all based on "local" rules, so yes, just go see the clerk and ask to change your address. They may handle all the notifications for you. If they don't, they'll let you know right there. I'm surprised your lawyer is making you change your address with the Clerk.

I guess he wants me to save money. The same way he is making me do all this audit work myself!! Does this seem strange?

Okay, I asked someone a long time ago how to access PACER, and they did tell me, but when I got on there, I couldn't figure ANYTHING out...so to avoid being billed for looking at next to nothing, here's what I would like to know...

1- Does PACER reveal HOW MUCH your creditors actually claimed on you?
2- Does PACER tell you how much you actually will end up paying on your C-13?
3- Does PACER tell you exactly how much time is left on your C-13? (at least 3, no more than 5 yrs.) this I know already...

I have acess to the NDC and view it all the time...but as you know, it doesn't say anything affimitive~ what I mean by that is at the end of the year, we always get a paper that say "this is what you paid" ~ "this is what you owe" ~ " HOWEVER, just because this paper says that you owe, blah blah blah... doesn't neccessarily MEAN that you will pay this much...." .blah blah blah....
WTH is that supposed to be..."a GLIMMER of HOPE"...??!!

            Does anyone know this info?
And if so, what is the query tab in PACER to get to this info...I NEVER could find out anything?!
Thanks in ADVANCE for any help!

Yes. This is in the "Claim Summary" area, which lists all the claims and claim amounts. You actually use this section to view the claims and to make sure they are accurate. If you object to any claim, you use the information in this section to file Objections, Oppositions, and Complaints.

No... your Confirmed Plan is the source of this. There will be an Confirmation Order which basically lists the details.

              No.

PACER is only a Docket System for the Court. You probably want to use 13DataCenter or 13Network if you want details about your plan, plan accounting, payments received, payments expected, creditor payments, time left, etc.

Your Confirmed Plan/Order of Confirmation dictates what you should be paying. Your 13DataCenter (NDC) is a summary of what's going on. You need to keep your own accounting. The Trustee uses 13Network or their own in-house system to track payments.

Just sign up for electronic notification and whenever any activity has occurred on your case, the Clerk will email you. If no email, you don't need to check. You can download the form from the Court Site and mail it in and there is no charge for this.

This is not good advice for a Chapter 13 pro se filer, or even an Asset Chapter 7 pro se filer. Claims do not generate any notification. In the first 120-150 days of a Chapter 13 case, a pro se filer needs to monitor the claims coming in, and to ake any appropriate action (via Objections to Claim, or Motions to Strike/Expunge Claim, etc).

The electronic notification you mention is for the EBN (Electronic Bankruptcy Notification), and not all things will come to you. I still recommend signing up for this, as it's a good way to get Court Orders for free (first view/download). I use both PACER and EBN/BNC. I do use PACER a lot more as the last thing I received from the BNC via EBN, was my Confirmation order. Yet, there were other "things" going on with my case, that I would never now from the EBN notices.

I have found myself increasingly obsessed with checking pacer, especially after I noticed a document posted at about 2 pm (central time). So I am on there about five times a day checking the document listing.

I read somewhere on here that one of the posters had to add their pacer bill to their BK.

I am going to force myself to check only once a day until the 341. Really, I can stop. Really!
Yep, that would be me We rang up a $500+ dollar Pacer bill. We added them to our creditor matrix and discharged the debt with no issue.

Pacer can be very dangerous, particularly if you a worrier like myself and run these huge searches trying to find out how other cases are doing.

For the addicts out there, try your local courthouse or library. Our local courthouse had 2 Pacer terminals available to the public for free (yes I found them after the big bill .
