    Felt like crying all day

I've just been so stressed out trying to come up with a solution to this problem:

    (1) my husband travels every week for work. It costs about $1200 each week, give or take. He uses a corporate Amex, gets reimbursed, pays Amex.

    (2) but when we file I'm sure Amex will cancel the card. They all will.

    (3) the only way I can think to keep him flying (and employed) will require us floating a LOT of expenses and/or keeping a pretty hefty amount of cash in the bank.

First, we have to get the Amex to zero by paying all incurred (but not reimbursed) expenses. Then, he'd have to pay cash for the expenses as he goes, and get reimbursed for all of it later.

It's a ton of cash to come up with, but I could sell a car (funny, no one wants to buy my smelly dogs!). I think we could exempt a $5600 account balance in GA since we're not using a house exemption. I think he can cancel the Amex pre-emptively so his employer doesn't know about the BK.

Is this going to be a problem with our Ch7? I've asked our BK atty and 2 others I know and nobody has any better ideas.

Have your husband talk to his employer about the company guaranteeing a card for him in case the one he has does get cancelled out by AMEX. If your husband is a long-term, good employee, there should not be an issue and rest assured they have probably been through all this before.

Can you two simply make the minimum payment each month on AmEX, but still receive full reimbursement from his employer? If you plan to file anyway, YOU keep the extra money and use it to pay int a retirement plan or pay ahead on autos or home. Or just keep it as cash until you and your attorney can decide how to protect it later in the process.
