Hello Everyone

I never thought i would be doing this as I'm sure you didn't either. Thursday we go to talk to an attorney and have him review our numbers . I dont think qualifying will be an issue as i just lost a 35,000yr job. We were hanging on by the skin of our teeth anyways.
I'm just popping in to give an introduction. Hopefully everything will be allright . We are aiming to keep the house and cars. Other than that doesn't really matter to us at this point . We are so looking to the relief on the other side. Looking forward to meeting everyone and then passing on what i learn as we go thru this process.

we are hoping we dont have to be delinquent and can show we are so screwed up that we can file before the lovely friendly calls start

anyways we hope the paperwork will go quickly . I'm off and my wifes a teacher so shes off for the summer.

DH & I found that actually deciding to file was the hardest part. It was absolutely gut-wrenching. But once we "made peace" with that, and accepted the fact that this is our only way out, we were OK with it (as OK as you can be). Good luck - glad you found this board. And if you have to get the phone calls, it's really not a big deal. Their bark is worse than their bite.

Welcome to the board! This is a great place to get support. Bk is such a taboo subject in real life to discuss. I am not advertising it from the rooftops but not ashamed either. A sister of mine and her husband filed (she referred me to their wonderful attorney) and now her bestfriend needs to file and my sister actually asked me to talk to her about it because she does not want her friend to know she filed. Silly I say but everyone is entitled to feel the way they feel.

For us, this is totally a business decision. We have made major financial mistakes in our married lives - ones we hope never to repeat. Bk gives us a fresh start and I am so looking forward to that. My goal is not to use credit cards at all. I know guns don't shoot people, people shoot people - but my thought is no one can get shot if you don't have a gun in the house!

well i'm happy to report the meeting was a huge success. We brought home our pkg today to fill out. Hopefully by the end of this weekend we will have it done. We are going to get an appraisal this afternoon to see if we might can get rid of the second mtg . We dont know if it will be a 7 or 13 yet.
