    Reaffirming a Debt

If I reaffirm a credit card debt, like Sears for example which I have had for 48 years now, never ever late, always stellar credit.....will they CLOSE the account even though I continue to pay?
My lawyer said walk away from all of it and forget them all.

I agree with your attorney to walk away from it all. Why do you want to reaffirm your Sears debt? Also, my understanding is that yes, they will close your credit line, even if you do reaffirm the debt.

Every credit card agreement states that they have the ability to change your rate, limit, minimum payment calculation and account status at any time. If you reaffirm with them, they will most likely close the account and make you pay the balance owed, so there would be no benefit to being nice to them.

It is very likely they'd still close the account if you reaffirmed.

Also reaffirming unsecured credit is generally a bad idea.
