Close to bk, lied only about job category, not income, employment status

If someone lied about their job title (inflating their title, for example, one category) on a credit card application, but not actual income or the fact that they were employed, is this fraud? This person is close to bankruptcy, for what it's worth.

If the income was accurate I cannot imagine an "inflated title" being considered fraud. Job titles are so subjective from company to company, I can't see how they would even know.

I think I named myself as Chief Oompa Loompa In Charge of Productivity Increases Over THE LONG TERM/Master Of The Empire on one card for fun.

Since I own my company I guess I will be ok?

From what I've understood, most credit card companies would be hard pressed to come up with your original application if you've had it a few years. I wouldn't worry about it.

No, this is not fraud. If they worked at a Bank, the difference between an Associate VP, Vp, First VP, and Senior VP, is only a title. LOL

Credit card companies make decisions based on credit score, income, expenses (debt to income), and sometimes on your field of employment, but not the title.

Actually, every application I've submitted, I've dumbed down my title because, as DMC writes, it was too long.
