What is supposed to happen to your credit report after filing?

How are creditors supposed to report after filing?

For instance, I filed on May 10. Is that supposed to stop the creditors/debts included in the filing from continuing to report late payments? I suppose if it is a few days later they haven't received their notice yet?

Just curious - I had two credit cards report me over 90 days, etc. as of this morning and I filed last Friday.

Even if that's not supposed to happen, I don't know if I should be bothered disputing. My score is already 506 and these two late reports are two of about over 70 from the past three months (I have over 19 unsecured creditors).
    over $100K cc debt,$20K taxes,$332K mortgages/value $190K,surrendered
    Confirmed, $801/month 56 down,4 to go

Eventually all will just show as included in the BK. Some of these outfits take a long time to get the message out to their other sections.
It does not matter much as the BK is what people will look the hardest at.

      True, that.

I'm curious what my 'On-The-Other-Side-Of-BK' credit score will prove out to be. I remained current on all debt service and bills -- everything actually: never a late payment to anyone. Were it not for size of debt and credit utilization my scores would have been back at 820. But to be sure -- it was the end of the line as far as liquidity and solvency, I just happened to realize it late in the day but before things fell apart.

Then I went neuclear on the credit cards. Dropped the bomb before they had a chance to know what hit them.

So I guess in a few months I'll be able to report back what effect a 'pure' bankruptcy has on FICO scores.

(Also, having things go that way, I've missed out on all the fun of incessant calls to home, cell, family, neighbors; nasty letters; strangers attacking my character with no basis in reality (I get that here from MI-Man, actually ). So, I go to the Collections forum and live through the reports of others. LOL)

        Mine got better

        Hi,
I filed one yr ago. Almost immediately all my debts said charged off to BK. And to my surprise my Credit score jumped up 68 points in one month and has stayed steady at that score since. Now I am even in the mid range. (I was under the idea that your score went to the bottom after filing and had to reclimb).
        Mine got significantly better.

How do you all know your credit scores? Did you pay for them?
