Can a single person claim 2 vehicles? I recall my lawyer's office saying no....but I can't seem to find anything online that supports that.

I don't think so. Perhaps you could, but it stands to reason that doing so would not survive the scrutiny of a US Trustee looking to make a push toward ch13.
More likely (wasn't my circumstance so I don't know for sure) I think a person can claim the car AND some public transportation expense. Both whatever the IRS allowance is.
Your state may provide a way to exempt both vehicles though.
