Question - What is considered income?

My attorney said that tax refunds are NOT considered income because they are basically like a savings account as the money was yours to begin with when you got your paycheck. This makes sense to me, but I've read many times and was also told by another attorney that tax returns ARE considered income. Can anyone shed light on this? I personally don't think it should be considered income on top of them looking at your gross pay, but what do I know. I am in Georgia, BTW.

***Also, if my husband sells some of HIS personal property is this money considered household income?

My understanding is that tax returns are not considered income, but they are considered assets that need to be exempted to keep.

Not sure about your other question, but I'm sure others on here know.
