Predictions?

I've noticed the median income for the means test has been raised in October and March. I'm pretty ignorant about economics but I think the increases were tied to the CPI.

Any thoughts about whether the median will be increased this October? I plan to file in Oct. or Nov. and we're so close to the median (over), it might make the difference in a 7 or 13 for us. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Since the median is an average of actual incomes in the states, I think it is going to start dropping soon. I think all of the layoffs, unemployment, pay cuts, etc. will have that effect. It may not be as soon as October, since I think the data collected is at least a year old, so it may take awhile to "catch up."

Well, I'll go out on a limb here and guess that the actual median income number for most regions in the US has been going down.

Call it a hunch.

So when actual census data gets used, we'll see a lot of dissapointed "Planning-But-Can't-File-Just-Yet" people.

Fortunately there's at least a couple weeks warning on the new numbers.
