Deposit on apt before filing?

I am putting the mortgage payment as an expense to file chapt 7 but I want to put a $150 on an apt and get the credit check done before I file. Is this ok?

I'll tell you what I know, though not exactly you situation. We are currently filling for BK and live in an apartment, I was very worried about renewing our lease. I went through our lease agreement and found no mention of BK's so I sucked it up and asked our manager about it. She said not to worry about it, that it would have no effect (for us.) We live in a very nice complex in a downtown area. The apartment WILL find out that you filled though. Part of our "pile" of paperwork our attorney wanted had a page referring to this. I can specifically remember it saying that your lessor would be notified. It could be different for other states, but as I understand, that's the way it goes in Texas.
