how long does it take to reaffirm?

Hi everyone, I've been pretty quiet wtih the questions lately, because I think I have asked about everything. We filed for Chapter 7 on 4/1/09 (using an attorney) and our 341 is 5/8/09. We are reaffirming our car and both mortgages. We are current on all of these. Our car reaffirmation papers came over a week ago and are taken care of. But we haven't heard anything about either of the mortgages yet. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for reaffirmation papers to get organized? When do we have to sign the paperwork for everything to go through with the reaffirmations? I know I am probably worrying for nothing, but I just want to be sure everything is okay. Thanks for the help.

P.S.--Before anyone freaks about us reaffirming our car, since I know that is often not recommended, know that we only have five payments left until it is paid off and we owe less than $1500 on it. So that will be okay; we are not reaffirming a huge amount for our car.

Normally the process for reaffirmation is: you receive reaffirmation agreement from the lender via your attorney, you review and sign and submit to your attorney, the attorney signs and sends to the lender for their signature. Then the document is FILED with the court.

However, there can be an issue IF the attorney does NOT want to sign your reaffirmation agreement. Then the reaffirmation must go before the judge to get approved. Has your attorney told you which way this is going to happen for you yet? I would think that because you are reaffirming 2 mortgages and a car that the attorney would want to get all of the reaffirmations in front of the Judge for the Judge's approval.
