We got a card in the mail saying we have a certified letter at the US Post Office that we have to sign for. I just know it is from a creditor, probably wanting to start legal action. I won't be picking it up until Monday. Anyone have a guess as to whether they send certified mail when you are getting sued? Two days ago we got a FedEx letter basically telling us we better pay up from another creditor, it had a threatening tone to it. If not for this forum I would be a nervous wreck. But you know what? I'm not. We'll be filing next month, having gained knowledge here, we have confidence and are ready to go forward. I no longer feel ashamed or that we are bad people anymore.

Here in NJ they can serve you by certified mail. It depends on your state.
You have the right attitude, after a while you realize that the whole collections system is largely based on fear and intimidation. As long as you have the BK "nuke button" you'll be fine.filed chapter 13..confirmed...converted to chapter 7...DISCHARGED!
