Has anyone ever retained a consumer protection attorney (CPA) in lieu of a BK attorney for chapter 13? If you haven't, you might want to look into it before you spend a thousand or two on a BKA. When I realized that I couldn't make my credit card payments any longer, I starting searching the web for answers. Not once did anyone ever mention looking into a CPA to help me out of my situation. The only options anybody ever mentioned were chapter 13 or chapter 7 for protection. Let me tell you I was forced to go chapter 13 because my income was too high ,when compared to the state median income (which is extremly low) and so basically you have no choice if you want protection under the absurd BK laws.
All I'm saying is that there is another option to BK for chapter 13.
