    Children's Savings Bonds & Accounts

I know I need to list the childrens personal items in our bankruptcy. But under the "Bonds & Savings" catagory, do I also need to list their savings bonds and their saving's accounts that have me on them since they are minors?

    Thanks for your help!

Hi Chicken123! I see you are new so welcome aboard. Have you done a search yet in this forum as to your subject? This subject has been discussed many times in here also very recently. Basically when you have any savings account for a child, the savings account is set up as a custodial account for that child [i.e., xxxx (parent) for the benefit of xxxxx (child)]. A custodial account, while held for the child, is an account that is held by you, under your control and is available to you at all times to withdraw the money and also deposit money. Therefore, it is an asset because those funds are available to you. Some people have mentioned they had to list these funds and other folks stated they were advised not to list them, so to be on the safe side for your particular situation, discuss with your attorney.
