Did anyone have a problem applying and getting accepted for a job after filing BK esp a federal job? Should I wait till I get the position before I file for BK?

If you are filing Ch 7 and have a choice, file and have your 341 before you take the position so the new income doesn't increase your gross income amount on the Means Test.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I am not qualify for 7 so my lawyer suggested 13. That wouldn't work then...Comment

Do a search in this forum on employment and filing bankruptcy. There are many discussions on the subject. Filing BK can be a factor in preventing one from getting a federal job. There is no guarantee and it all depends on the position. If you get the job and file BK afterwards, there may be clauses in your employment agreement or required by the agency you work for that indicate you may have to disclose whether or not you file bankruptcy while employed by them._________________________________________
