Ive had it with BK lawyers

Is it just me or is every BK lawyer just too busy to talk...Everytime I ask one question - even if its about a consultation, they talk so quickly and with frustration as if I am wasting their time.

There is just no service...I mean, I will be paying one of them precious money for their services....what gives?

If anyone has recommendations for a good lawyer in Henderson, Nevaa, please PM me....iw ont get mad at ya if I dont like them, I just want a consultation with someone trustworthy.

EEEK - Im pulling my hair out over all of this (as many of you have noticed, repeatedly accusing me of overthinking things!!!!)

    anyways, just had to vent
    waiting to file in july-august,
waiting for Chase to begin foreclosure,
waiting for cc's to begin lawsuits,
    just waiting (& "afraid")...

Are you going to these Consultations with a Prepared Budget of your Income and Expenses?

When we met with our Attorney, I had a Monthly Budget. He briefly looked at it and said Yes, you qualify for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. Dang, at the time, I didn't know the difference between Chapter 7, 11, 13 or 20 LOL!

I've since met with him twice. He is paid except the $300 for filing fee and he told me I could pay that anytime before he filed. He also gave me his E-Mail Addy and when I receive something from a Collection Agency, I always fax it (my printer allows incoming and outgoing faxes) to him with my question and he will email me with the answer.

He is the Only full-time Bankruptcy Attorney in our area as we live in a small town. That's all he does is bankruptcies and oh my, when I visited with him in February, he said he was snowed under in Bankruptcies.

Go into these consultations with a Monthly Budget using your Gross Income, your deductions from your paycheck and then your take home pay and all of your expenses. Keep in mind, you must use your Gross Income for the previous six months in figuring your Budget. I don't know what your W-4 shows as to how many exemptions you are claiming, but a good question to ask is what taxes are deductible on your Budget. That's a question I need to email my Attorney and ask.

If you have animals, you will have to list them as an Asset (what a Joke!) and there is a customary monthly expense for your District. We have a 6 1/2 yr. old Shih Tzu. We found out in Oct. of last year, she has a serious skin infection and something wrong with her bladder. We have spent over $2,000 on vet bills, prescriptions (2 for the rest of her life) and prescription dog food for the rest of our life. I asked my Attorney if I could use the exact figure. He laughed and said no! But he didn't tell me how much was allowable.

Write down every question you want to ask. No, type each question on Microsoft Word, Notepad or whatever you have and take two copies with you so you can write down his answer, But, be quick about it as a Free Consultation (I think) only last about 15-20 minutes.

If the Attorney speaks to fast, asking him nicely to slow down as you are unable to comprehend his answer. There are soo Many people filing Bankruptcies and Attorneys' are swamped. That's just my opinion though.

    Hope this helps you.
