    Surrendering My Vehicle

I am trying to Surrender my old car to Citi Financial and they told me that it would be awhile before that could get the car....what's up with that? I think the girl is dragging her feet with this because she knows that she wrecklessly fiananced me for $11,000 using a car that is only worth $2,000 as collateral. I need to surrender this ASAP!! I can't afford this payment and the other payment on my car. Citi Financial is horrible and she finance me at a god awful rate with no end in sight...Any suggestions on what to do, and how to get them to come get the darn car!

why dont you just drive it to one of their business locations, park it out front and take your tag off... then go home in a taxi.. thats what i did..

is that legit? By doing that, will it free me from the liability of the payment? I realize I am taking a hit by surrendering it, but I just need to know that if I do just drop it off it will be taken from there.

Why don't you just drive it, send them a certified letter that you will drive it until they are willing to pick it up. Stop paying on it and consider it free transportation. Keep it insured of course. You are not obligated to deliver anywhere and yes you may open yourself to a damage suit if the car gets torched ordamaged.

When you stop paying on it, they will come for it. When they do, take pictures of it and get a reciept. 'Hub

We surrendered ours. We filed BK in April, discharged in August and they did not get the last car until January. The repo guy told me that he has way too many cars to pick up and has to turn down some collections because he just cannot keep up. In our case we live on an island and it involved a large journey for the repo guy. He said he takes close proximity repos and easy repos first and the others if he gets to them. May be why they said it could be a bit to pick up your auto. We continued to drive ours with liability insurance only (we sent them a letter stating we would be canceling collision as of a certain date as the debt had been discharged. We told them they could pick up the car or insure for collision as they saw fit). Hope that helps.

well, i tried to be a nice guy and you know what they say about nice guys..

i made arrangements after my lawyer told me to turn in my harley... i called the CU and told them the sad news... then, at their request, i left the bike at their headquarters all washed and polished...

guess what, they still charged me a 700 buck repo fee...
