    Question Lawyer ratings?

I'm not sure if this is the place for this or not.

I looked briefly, and didn't find anything on this topic. I am wondering if there are any sites to recommend lawyers, or rate them (positively), or even anything on here for that? I know there are plenty of outlets to bash them. I feel when someone helps me out, they deserve to be helped out.

After reading all of the horror stories on here that the lawyers don't answer, don't return calls for weeks, I feel very greatful that mine answers every time. Sure, they might not call me back that same day like they say, but it's the next day at the very latest.

    Just wondering...

rating an attorney would be hard to do because what criteria would a person base it upon?

For example, mine seems to be doing a good job and I based that upon we are able to keep our businesss, our home, and our 2 vehicles while keeping our payments reasonable.

If I could do the Pro Se myself, could I do better? I don't think I could even close. To me, our lawyer is worth every penny he makes.

I think the important thing is the outcome, mine turned out fine, but I waited a long time to get processed through the office, never really heard from them on a regular basis, was NOT impressed with the initial meeting... So I think its a crap shoot no matter what.

I think what would be nice if there was just simply a general board that had overall experiences with the office, such as: 'were good communicators, did they listen to the needs or they didn't try to push me into a 13 when I clearly qualified for a 7- but it was more work. That sorta thing. I think that would be a great tool. And if regulated correctly it would be very effective. If I were a mod I would handle it like a HR dept., so if someone said they were F^&@* crazy and they sucked, I would simply take that post down. Meaning the negativity would need to be limited to: I don't recommend this firm based on things like: lack of communication, lost paperwork, didn't show for the 341, never called me back etc.

Anyways, I think that we all could make a very good board- that is civil, but also conveys the info people need to know.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of their service to you. Returning calls, prompt on paperwork, shows up for the meetings, etc.. Things that are expected of someone you are paying to represent you. Sure some will charge more than others, and will work faster than others, or be more thorough, but the overall rating would be to recommend them or not.

Like in my case, the first attorney I went to was in a rush, talked our ear off drew a few diagrams and said come back when you have 1800 dollars, bye
          He would get an F.
My current lawyer, was to the point, and didn't play games. He had a plan in the first time we met him, and I had a good feeling when I left his office.
I would recommend him to anyone.

Just an idea, didn't know if there was anything like that or not. I will check those sites, see if I can't help him for helping me.
