Mine was smack dab in the middle of the report. There is NO WAY they could miss it, and I was still hired.

    There is HOPE for us.

Yup, I asked for a copy too, haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure it's on there.... Thanks though!!!

But, if they have two or three applicants that are in close competition I bet you they would choose to hire the one without the BK. Just my two cents worth.
You hit the nail square on the head....

Under the FCRA, and employer that chooses not to hire you because of something that came up in a background check must tell you and there has to be an opportunity to appeal anything that is reported in error. They don't have to tell you beforehand what their criteria is. Many times people worry that an employer is going to look at credit when they only pull a criminal history. It really does depend on the employer and the job. The good news for bankruptcy filers now is, there are so many people with distressed credit, the employers would have to say no to a lot of good candidates if they remain too strict. A person who has had their debts discharged is a much better risk than one who is still struggling to pay.
Scared to file. Scared not to file.

I have a recent security clearance and this was after filing BK. They asked me about how much my house was. How much debt I had. If I ever been sued. If I ever filed BK. I answered honestly on all of the questions! Of course, they asked the standard criminal things. The most shocking was "what's the most significant crime that you've gotten away with?" (Yes, that was a question.) Fingerprints taken.

Two weeks later... I'm okay! I passed the background investigation. i was sure the bankruptcy, and debt was going to affect me.

It just depends. It will affect some people and some is dependent on the job. Security clearances may also be impacted.

Right, I feel that those that are past the discharge are the most credit worthy- as we can't drop the debt!
