401K - Means Test expense or not?

I have been trying to find information as how my payments on my pension loan is used or figured in to the means test. I have found several articles saying these payments are classified as expenses the same as food, rent and clothing, but this still does not concisely answer my question. Is it an item that is used as part of my ability to pay or not. Depending on whether or not it can be used, changes whether or not chapter 7 is an option.
