Reasonable time frame to determine if you qualify for ch 7 or13?

Cyn5. If you really are borderline, no attorney, at "Free Consult" can/will tell you definitively if you qualify for a 7. That analysis is deceptively complex and that is what the attorneys get "paid" to do.

I honestly think your frustration stems from unrealistic expectations of what and when an attorney will perform certain tasks for a person.

HHM, we know that you are an attorney and probably busy right now as most credible bk attorney's are in this economy. But the OP said the attorney has had his paperwork for two weeks and is still not able to determine which chapter the OP can file. That seems to be a very long time.

Is it your suggestion that by saying which chapter the OP qualifies for, the attorney has done his job? Isn't it just step one of the attorney's job? JMO
