Filling BK while living in a foreign country

    Hi

I am an american citizen, who currently lives in Germany. I owe money to creditors (resulting from cc-debt) in the US. Due to my living situation in a foreign country I dont know which American court to choose in an eventual bankruptcy case. Is there anybody in the same situaton ? Or is there anybody that has experience with that kind of situation ?

I suppose you would file in the area where you last lived in the US.

It is mandatory for a debtor to attend the 341a meeting. It would probably cost you more to do that than to file - and there is no point in filing unless you plan to attend the 341a meeting - because the case will be dismissed.
