I have 2 family members that are helping me pay for the BK and monthly bills until i file my ch7. will this hurt me if i have 2 deposits of $1500 each? I'm assuming this doesn't go in the means test?

Thanks!
do you mean that you're depositing the 1500 to your checking? This would be included for your 6 month income; so if that is what you are referring to as "will this hurt" - it may. It would probably benefit you more to have one of them give a cashier's check (from their account) to your attorney for the legal fees; and just give you some money in cash to pay your bills. You can go to your bank with cash and get money orders to send for your bills.

problem is i already deposited $1500 in my checking (it was a check) and $1500 in my savings (another check) so it's too late. i hope i didn't screw myself over by doing this

can you hold off on filing for that extra income to drop off? You didn't say where you are in the stage of filing...
Do you still qualify for BK with the extra 3k?
Whatever you do though; DO NOT write a check back to your relative from those accounts. Just an FYI- because it would look like a pref payment or insider transfer..
Good luck with everything

Agree. There is no way around the $3,000 income inclusion other than delayed filing for 6 months.
Well, I did. Every one of 'em. Mostly I remember the last one. The wild finish. A guy standing on a station platform in the rain with a comical look in his face because his insides have been kicked out. -Rick
