Well, lets see.
So far we are at 25 months and counting.
10 different creditors with about $110,000 in debts.
+ a bunch of medical bills totalling over $20,000.
All have been through at least 3 different collections agencies by now.
We are still at the same address and have the same phone number.
The calls would go through cycles. Sometimes there would be a lot, then there would be hardly any. Usually they would taper off after I would actually talk to one and just tell them. Go ahead, sue us, then I would tell them how much I make right now, and that my wife is still off work due to a medical condition. They would hang up and I would never hear from them again, and everyone else would quit calling too.
Funny thing is, when you have nothing for them to take, they really aren't that interested in you.
We went from 2004 - me making $25K and my wife making $18k
to 2006 - me making $20k and my wife not making anything and needing $200 a month just to cover the co-pays on her perscriptions becaue I make $10 too much a month to get a medical card to supliment my employers health plan.
Would love to file, but the cheapest I have been able to find a lawyer to take my case is around $2,000 which we can't afford. And every year when I think we will be able to use the tax return to hire a lawyer something comes up.
