Use a lawyer or do it myself - Ch.7 ?

    Debt:

    I have 60 k unsecured loans
    I have 20 k student loans

I dont own a car, dont own a house, dont own notin' no job.
No alimony, no kids, no wife, living with a roomate.
No fraudulent charges in past 60 days. Just poor as a mouse and neglected to file in the past year.

    I have a guitar and 2 computers.

I do have a college degree in Finance

Do I file on my own or should I pay the attorney to do it for me?

I think I should do it on my own....what about you?

Consult a couple of attorneys (free) to get a chance to ask any questions you may have, and to learn if there is anything to your situation that might be more than basic. At the same time, check out form7.com.

I filed on my own, don't regret it.
Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

I agree, check with 2 attorneys - then consider filing yourself....take the best route for you....

Remember if you file yourself - better have your duck in the right row..........

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I found it very easy to file myself, if you have any kind of experience with paperwork of a legal nature I would say file yourself if you are in that situation. I am in the same situation as you and filed myself, no assets of really any kind. Just had my 341, and everything went perfect. If you feel up to it just research the requirements in your state (I researched on the bankruptcy courts of my states website, and it spelled it out for me.)

If I was in your position, yes, I'd do it myself. However, in my case I would rather have a lawyer know the i's to dot and t's to cross and NOT hit a major landmine along the way.

Plus I'm not afraid, but I have enough keeping me occupied with caring for an elderly parent and 2 dogs and 3 cats (1 of which is a kitten and another was badly injured).

Good luck, keep posting and let us know what happens!
