    ammend filling question

    Hello all! I just filled for Chapter 7 on the 26th of Nov. We did an emergency filling since Discover had sent me court papers and they were ending the time I had to respond. So, we filled them incomplete knowing that we had limited days to complete them. I go in tomorrow to sign the last of the papers. So my question, it is very petty but a concern of mine and since I won;t see my att. until tomorrow I thought I would ask here. The week after I filled my name was in the paper and for me I think that was the worst part so far, so now I am hoping and wondering if it will be in again since we are siging more papers? I know that should be the least of my concerns, but I am worried about it. My mom doesn't know that we filed and we got lucky with her not seeing it in the paper due to it getting mixed in with holiday stuff. So, does anyone know if it will go in again?
    Also, what should I expect from here? I know this is all stuff that I can ask tomorrow and I will just I am just thinking way to much right now. Hope someone can help. Thanks

    Your name was in the paper?? Is it standard for the paper to list BK filings in your area? They don't do that here. WOW

    I would think that since you have already filed and listed your name, they are not going to list it again when you complete the filing. Just a guess of course, I have never seen this before.

      yep! They post your name, address and what Chapter you filed

        Wow, I guess it is public information but to advertise it would piss me off. Do you live in a small town?

          It wasn't fun at all to see my name in print. I live in a fairly small town but the paper covers a wide area. It sucks but it would suck even more to have it printed twice!

            Yikes! I wanna puke! I was on the phone with MIL and FIL was yelling in the background, "ask her why her name was in the paper?" then went on to yell that the nieghbor told him it was in for bankruptcy and that it was me cause it had my address! Life sucks!

              I know how you feel. Ours was listed also when we filed our 13 in Oct 05.

              If it makes you feel any better, subsequent amendments never resulted in it being re published.

              Hang in there. It will get better. I was ashamed initially, but no more. Our financial situation and decisions are our business, no one elses. I don't worry about what others think anymore. Besides....... I would think that given the current state of the economy, people might be a bit more understanding.

              Best of luck to you! Keep your chin up, and your head held high. You have NOTHING to be ashamed of for filing.

                What really irritates me about this post is the fact that the in laws are upset and yelling rather than having a little compassion. Have faith that their will some sort of carma coming their way for their treatment of you.
