Does the trustee look at credit card statments

Does the trustee look at your credit card statments to see how it was used?

Or do they go by what you put down as assests and the only one who looks at the credit card charges are the credit card companies, and if they think something is not discharable then they could object.

They didnt look at mine, nor did my lawyer. My lawyer asked if I had used them at at all and I said no. The trustee asked if I made payments over 600 dollars in the previous whatever it was to any creditor and that was it.

Our attorney asked us what we had charged over a specific amount on any card during the previous 12 months and any major items we charged during that period of time (i.e., computer, jewelry, TV's, stereos, etc., etc.). The same as to cash advances. I am sure that was in case the creditor brought it up as they, of course, would have records on that information. We were not asked for credit card statements, just had to provide checking account statements for a one year period.

Did your lawyer want the bank statements for 1 year or was that trustee that ask for them.

from what i can remember they said only bring your DL and SSN with you and that is it. I know some lawyers look at the statements and some don't.

the only thing is i did make one big purchase of $2400 for a "luxury" Item 6 months ago that I needed to get and i know after BK i would not be able to get it, but i am more that happy to pay for it if it gets objected. I am current on the cards though.

Our lawyer asked and we did not have to bring anything with us to our 341, just identification.

If we had them, yes. We only had $100 in a savings account which was at the same bank as our checking account. We did not have any stocks then and we had to provide information my 401(k) even though it was exempt.

Yes the attorney asks for all the statements - brokerage accounts, savings and checking accounts. Also all the credit card statements, in my case 3 yrs of cc stmts.

The attorney asks so they can have a comprehensive file and if the trustee requests anything - the attorney can supply it without having to have you dig it up (and possibly miss a deadline). At least that is how my attorney works.

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
