    Means test

I have seen some of the "simple" means tests on some sites but is there a more detailed one I can use?

Seems to me, "you make X, you owe y, you qualify" is just too simple.

    Here Jeb,
This is the official means test from the US Trustee site -

Jurisdiction matters! What is legal in one state may not be legal in another! Since 2006, LegalConsumer.com has provided free, localized legal information to State consumers like you.

An exact, up-to-date official means test form tailored to your area (median incomes). Just plug in your numbers and it does the calculations for you.

      CLOSED - 10/20/08

I echo LauraAnne's recommendation. The link provided is a fairly decent means test and it actually has the up to date information (10/1/2008).

Is there a means test for idiots somewhere? Because I skip right down to where you put in your mortgage payments and it says
I am 3k in the hole each month. Math is not my strong suit.

LOL, that is the Idiot Version.

You need to enter your income first... in the Income section which is around line 1.

Tks all - I downloaded the NOLO ebook and, wow, what a lot of outstanding information.

I might even be able to answer some of the questions I and others ask here now.

              Take care - jb
