    re: Domestic Partner/Roomate income

    Hi All,

How much weight does a domestic partner or roommate's income to the household hold in a chapter 13 case?

I currently rent a small room with my DP, and make a payment for the mortgage. I am not on the mortgage loan. He pays for most of the household expenses, like electricity, phone, groceries, etc. I definitely make less than he does.

My question: When the attorney asks is there is any other income, do I have to say, well, my DP pays for this or that or just a set amount per month?

Do I have to tell them about his income?

(I am in California by the way.)

    Thanks.

my understanding is you can treat the live-in as a renter, and provide the amount that is contributed to the household by that person. attorneys know more though.
