    Sallie mae - I need the name/number of someone who CARES at sallie mae

    Please, if you have the name and number of a person at sallie mae who can help us, I would be grateful. We are hoping to be able to pay some extra to them whenever we can to help pay down that loan but I want to make sure that they actually APPLY our payments to the loan. Any advice would be appreciated and if you could PM me the info on who to talk to, thanks!!

    The information/phone number you need should be on your mortgage statement/paperwork. Call and ask for Customer Service and explain your situation - they can direct you to the appropriate party/department.

      I know the number, I was really kind of hoping for the extension of a customer advocate who is competent, kwim?

        Gingerbug, I know exactly what you mean. I'm sorry, I don't have a contact at Sallie Mae - but when I was negotiating interest rate reductions and payment plans with various cc's and LOC's - I had to keep calling back each one until I reached someone that would work with me. Sometimes that meant calling ten times!!! Some of the phone drone's just don't hear what we are saying - so they say no. Just be persistant. It's hard work to find someone that will listen to you - but it can be done and is worth it. Good luck in finding someone...

          Unless someone on here works for that agency and is willing to give out that information even with privacy laws, as I stated and the poster before me, you may have to call Customer Service and explain your situation to get the correct person/dept. and hopefully they will be able to work with you by themselves.
