Question on Automatic Debits

Hey All,

We have one car payment (Which has two payments left) that is an monthly automatic debit. Will this stop since the BK has been filed? Or will the auto-debit still occur as normal?

We intend on making the last two payments and keeping the car. I was hoping it would still be automatic, so we didn't have to make payments via mail.

If it is through a credit union, mine was stopped. I had to reaffirm to get my checking account reopened, my online access, my car payment (outomatic debit) and overdraft protection. I would think the OP should keep an eye on it and if it goes over the regular draw date, call the bank or CU and ask. Two payment is a great start on the new start. I think I heard that they won't take money out of your account during BK but you can send them money from your account. Depending how you've got it set up.

My auto-debits continued through BK but my online access was cut off until I reaffirmed.
