    Pacer Bill

Just got my first bill from PACER. $308.00. What the Heck. Seems that I misread the instructions. I thought you only got charged 8 cents for the pages you printed. Didn't realize that just by looking you were charged by the page.

    Now what do I do

You're not the first to do that.

I'm not sure how the others worked out, hopefully one of them can come by and give some tips. You'll have to work out some sort of payment with the court though I believe.

OMG, I can't believe I am that stupid, I hope they will work something out with me or I'll really be screwed. I don't have 308.00

Pay them something with a note of explanation that you didn't understand the system and would make it up in payments. It's better than ignoring it.

Here is what I do: Every document has an item number printed on the top and in the history. When you open the item, every page in it is .08, then I save it to a folder in my own machine for look back or printing later. Change the name as some long name is assigned to it. I just put the docket number down and a short title of what it is. This may help. Sorry about that bill, but many have done that. 'Hub

          Thanks Hub and All

Just called Pacer, they said too bad pay the bill. Lady says "next time read the instructions"

Had my 341 on 9/26, still no update, so I would check all the time.

Guess I will have to sell myself

Ask your lawyer if you can file it as an Administrative Expense.

I have a similar issue, and my PACER bill was $240. However, I filed pro se and will charge this to the Trustee by filing it as an Administrative Expense along with the other $500+ in expenses I have to date.

            Wish me luck.

I made a mistake on Pacer (must have clicked a few to many times)and ended up with a bill of $38. I was distraught over that amount so I really feel for you.

The best way to use pacer is to log in and on the header page check to see date of last filing.(top right) If that date stays the same then you know there is nothing to see. I did not realize this and would keep scanning through pages to see if anything was new.

We did get a letter in the mail because the debit card for fees on Pacer was from a credit union account that was closed by the bank. The letter mentions that any amount unpaid will be persued by outside collections. I cannot remember the exact words but I got the impression its treated just like if you dont pay your taxes.

WOW, I am a paralegal and my bill since Jan 1, 2008 is only $38.00!!
$308.00? That is a huge bill considering it is only $.08 a page. WOW

Next time try using the FREE voice system to check things out. Does not cost a thing.
