    Kinda wierd question

I cannot see this being an issue but my wife is worried so I will ask. Forgot to ask attorney today.

I have enough points to stay a Marriott hotel in Hawaii and it has been nearly three years since last vacation.

Air fare is from points as well.

We don't HAVE to go soon and I don't want to chance things, we can wait until next year but I really need a break at some point and it will be for free except for meals etc.

Any ideas how a TT would view spending ANY amount of money on vacation under these circumstances?
Very fortunate in the grand scheme of things but have learned my lesson.

    Filed 12/15/08, 341 1/12/09, Cont to 2/12/09, cont to 3/12/09, cont to 4/15/09, cont to 5/11/09, cont to 6/02/09. Discharged 9/16/09, Closed 10/23/09

I have the same points and we're waiting until the BK is over next year. We figure the vacation will be more enjoyable once BK is over.

I do need to talk to my attorney about declaring the points and the trustee taking them. If there's a chance he will I'm heading to Aruba before filing. I have enough points for a $4-5k vacation if I had to pay for it.
It's not what we have in our lives, but who we have in our lives and the quality of those relationships.

        Wow, declaring points?

I never thought about that. My attorney's questionaire did not ask for anything like that and I have not seen anything relating to points.

I don't know that the trustee would want them because I just don't see how they could liquidate them and get any money out of them for the creditors. That's what they want, things they can liquidate, right? I seriously doubt these will be an issue, but I guess it's always better to be safe than sorry so I'd ask the attorney.

Nor would I have thought about travel points being an asset to declare--not that I have any. I haven't flown since Sept. 11, 2001. We drive now. But that may not be much longer....
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.
