I'm confused, I've heard 341 meeting mentioned a lot. I am assuming that that is the meeting with the trustee in court- the actual bk meeting, is this right? If so, why is it called 341?
Thanks!
My meeting didn't happen in court. It was in a small meeting room located inside the Federal court house. Nothing real formal and most people came directly from work so most were not dressed up.
There was one long conference table in the room and plenty of full seats with people waiting for their turn with the Trustee and anything above a whisper is obvious.
It only lasts about 3-5 min. on average and when it's over you start the 60 day countdown til discharge unless there is a problem.

Ours was a little longer then the typical because we are over the median. Maybe 8-10 minutes. They had a list of 10 questions that they ask everyone, our lawyer went over those with us on the 10 minute walk to the building. They were the typical, did you file BK before? Sell anything to relatives? Anything you didn't disclose on the petition? If you are a straight forward 7 it will be a quick painless meeting. Ours was in a too small room with too many people in it, but it didn't have the intimidating look of a court room. Dragonnfly
