First of all, YOU got your self into debt so if you have to pay some of it back in a 13, you should! This is where my meanness comes in I guess. People who think they are getting screwed for being forced into a 13. You owe that money right? Sorry, won't go on, as it will just cause problems...

The entire thing is meant to screw people out of a 7. I've come to the conclusion that the best time to file is when the 6 month lookback passes tax returns & stimulus payments....like Nov/Dec timeframe.

I am under the median but if you add in the tax return and stimulus - I'm way over. I should be rolling in money according to the test. Even though I'm way under in sced I & J. And even though I know people get discharged when they don't pass the means test, it's just another issue to worry about in this process.

Cali, I hope you get your 7 (as I do for everyone else filing) but you might want to reserve your smugness until you actually get discharged.

You're on a roll here. If I might add--you piss and moan about Amex "screwing" you over. According to the brilliant response you wrote above, you owe Amex money, and you should be paying them back for all those gift cards you bought. I call BS on being rude to others when you post circumstances and expect sympathy.

Ok so I didn't see this post. MM, remember, BK doesn't really have to do much with how much you owe or why you owe...it really has to do with how much you can pay!
