Where I live, only the bk court offers free access to pacer. So I went down today. It was super nice and they've got at least a dozen terminals for the public to use.
I had 4 names of different lawyers I've spoken with and pulled up all their cases and then went on from there. Opened tons of petitions and other various documents. Would have cost a fortune if I had done it from home. The searching was very easy too - for anyone wondering.
It was so useful to see their different techniques and so very helpful to see how they are currently filling out the forms. I'll be going back one more time. But just doing this alone gave me a lot of confidence in going pro se.
And also - the one woman attorney I thought I liked and was contemplating using had tons of 13s, and very few 7's. Now I know why our most recent conversation didn't give me warm fuzzies - it was because she really wasn't interested in doing my bk 7 - the 13s are where she makes her money.
