ATT new cell service + low credit score =???

anyone have experience signing up for a new att cell phone account that has bad credit????

i know back a couple of years ago nexel used to charge an outragous deposit if you had bad credit.... just wondering if att is hard to get without a deposit....

i think my score is about 600 so they say and i have about 43 000 dollars in unsecured creditcard bills....

I am in the process of filing for chap 7 but havent yet...

600 isn't bad, if you are current on your debt you should be able to get a new cell phone.

Hello, I work for a national retailer that carries all the carriers under one roof and the 2 easiest to get are Sprint and T-Mobile. Sprint, in my opinion, is the best company. Even though they are going through a lot if issues. You should be happy with them. Verizon and AT&T are the toughest right now. Verizon usually will ask for a $400 deposit and AT&T can go up to $800!!! 600 is not bad though so I would try it out. An inquiry with cell phones dont hit your score to hard...especially if you do them all at the same time. The bureaus will know you are obviously shopping for service.

        good luck.

Sprint will do no deposit and they give you a spending limit for the first year. If you go over you limit they just block the phone til you make a payment. I've been with sprint for 7 years now and every time I've renewed they add on a discount. I'm up to 27% discount now. I love sprint, but you have to pay attention to your bill because there are some mistatkes.

Tmobile will ask for deposits if they think your credit isn't up to par.

And the best carrier would depend on where you are located.
