Sent off payment 36 of 36!!!

It sure has been a long 3 years. We finally feel like we can get on with life. Lessons have been learned and it feels good to only buy what you need or have the finances for. Can't see the need to get another credit card.
Looking forward to seeing the bank accounts go up.
To all those just starting your ordeals, good luck and hang in there.
Everyone here has been an inspiration and a source much needed guidance.
    LAST payment MAY 08

Yep - only 30% of those who file a Ch 13 plan finish it to the end.

Most of the 70% that don't finish their Ch 13s successfully have a serious loss of income (job loss, divorce, major medical problem, etc) after filing and convert to Ch 7, some filers decide to voluntarily dismiss their 13s for various reasons, and the rest are dismissed by the trustee, usually for non-payment when the filers don't bother to tell their lawyer they are having payment issues until it's too late.

This study about Ch 13 outcomes makes for very interesting reading - http://www.philadelphiafed.org/files...13-filings.pdf . See pg 6 for a discussion of Ch 13 statistics and what % cases are successfullly completed.
