While I see an excess of $525, what I don't see is where are your other monthly expenses? Like food???????

Those are a factor as well, not just monthly bills.

What about a budget for clothing, car repairs/maintenance, gasoline, household expenses, so on and so forth?????? Even if you are just a single person, it wouldn't take much to eat up that $525/mo.................
You can't have your cake and eat it too. But you can dip your finger in the bowl and lick the icing

Surrender of vehicle not going as planned...

      Well there is an update,
Went out over the weekend and financed an 08 Honda civic
      Now i have 2 vehicles
So under lawyer instruction i call the hummer leinholder to set up surrender of vehicle...
They wont give me an exact date on when they will come get it, i still have to keep tags/ins on the dam thing untill they do. And when they do, what if im not home and they end up taking the tags with them.
They basicly told me to kiss their ass, the will come get it when they are dam good and ready, unbelieveable

So i tell em i'll just drop it of at the dealership where i got it, there respons was that chances are it will get towed off to an impound lot and i'll get charged with the fees.

i am actually not too far off from setting this thing afire

so what do you do with a lienholder that "WONT" let you surrender a vehicle? yeah i could just let it sit, but insurance on 2 vehicles is running almost 300 a month, if i cancell ins on the hummer its 250 A DAY in fines and loss of liscense!

I knew deep down inside that this whole BK process was gonna be a huge hassle...i was right, now i have 2 cars....2x the bills...and daily anxiety attacks!

Take a deep breath. We all do things that for whatever reason we justify to ourselves at the time.

The fact that you seem to have several debts deep in collections, might allow you some negotiating room on the old debt.

The repo on the hummer will most likely result in a deficit debt (what you owe minus what it is sold for in the future.)

I didn't read all the previous posts, but I hope you spoken to several attorneys for initial consults.

Just return it to the dealer and then, cancel the insurance. Put any towing fees, etc. in the bk.

Agreed with Keepmine, the towing fees will either be billed to you separately or rolled up into the deficiency judgement on the Hummer: either way you can add them to your bk. Don't sweat it. Take that tank down to the dealer ASAP, and cancel tags/ins the same day if you can: that is the end of that dilemma.

FWIW, I really think you did the right thing, ditching the tank and getting something affordable and reliable that will see you through the nex few years. That, and it's GOTTA be easier on gas now, right? I wish you well. Good luck!!!
Nolo Press book on filing Chapter 7, there are others too. (I have no affiliation with Nolo Press; just a happy customer.) Best wishes to you!
