For those that told your children, did their lives change a lot during the time? For us, our lives really haven't changed as much.

Our lives didn't change too much for our teenagers. They do not have an allowance anymore and they both have jobs. They buy their own prom dresses now and one of my teens buys junk food because we won't/can't afford it. The biggest change for them is coming next month. We are moving the month after our 341. We will be living with family until we get back on our feet. Everyone will have to find new jobs. One of our daughters will have to change high schools before her senior year for this. Periodically she breaks down about that, then other times she is absolutly fine with it and looking forward to meeting people. When she cries it really hurts me. We just cannot make it here though anymore.

I bet it is hard to move right before your senior year.

I pray everything goes smoothly for your family.

Mom of 5, I'll bet that the 12 yr old will look back on this in later years and learn exactly what you are trying to teach. You sound like a good mother, besides I kinda like the whole thing abot the old shoes for 5 more day's deal, I'll use that in the future even if I can afford exactly what they want. 49 months done 11 to go

Thank you Bmcmull! That is what I am thinking. If anything else good comes out of this that would probably be the most important thing.

I can only imagine how hard this must be for your daughter having to move. The good thing about it is that most of the kids in school by their senior year (at least the ones going on to college etc..) are mature enough and have learned some empathy towards others. She is going to have no trouble at all making friends. My daughters best friend was a 'new' girl last year and you would never guess that they havent known each other forever. My daughter has been in the district since 2nd grade.
You daughter will have double the friends in the long run. I know its easy for us to say as we dont have to go through it. But the schools do seem to have come along way with the clique stuff/bullying/acceptance. If your around my age thats probably not how you remember. My daughter assures me that things are not like that any longer. Good luck to your family... you'll be in our thoughts.

Thank you! I didn't mean to jack the thread. There are some great names on here. They have made me laugh when I needed it!

Our daughter is five and has no concept of Bk. I will not hide it from her when she is older. With that said, she knows that we have a limited budget and cannot always get her what she wants. I have explained that we do not have much money right now and we have to watch what we spend. It doesn't bother her.
