How do you decide when to file? I keep saying "when this is paid off" or "when my checking account is above zero dollars" or "when I am current on my auto payment". I know I am filing, but I just can't seem to be in the right position to do it. Can anybody help me with this??? thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you sorta. But at some point I will have to bite the bullet and just do it.
Do you want to keep your car? If yes, I'd suggest at least getting current on this payment before you file....and then just do it - take the plunge.Filed Chapter 7 Pro-Se May 29, 2008

I want to keep my car. We have a credit card with the same company, BOA, and today when they called they said they received our car payment, but not our credit card. Me, being an honest DA told them we were filing bankruptcy. They had told us we could extend our car payment by 2 months after this one posted. We only run 30 days late, but I don't know if they'll let us now. I guess I'll just have to take the plunge and see what happens. I can't see them wanting to repo a car with no equity.

You will know when you have to file. At first you try not to and by doing that you usually get yourself more in debt and then get locked in the vicious rob Peter to pay Paul downward spiral from which there is no return short of hitting Powerball. It's best to file before you get to that point because everyone always wishes they filed earlier._________________________________________
