How to legitimately spend money before filing Ch.7

I've searched the forum and can't find the answer to this one anywhere.

If I get my income tax refund, what is a legitimate way to spend it before filing Chapter 7? Is it different from how you spend money on hand before filing Chapter 13? Most will pay the atty., but I will probably have some money left over and don't want to seem like I'm doing something suspicious. My state doesn't have an exemption for cash on hand. Thanks again.
Filed Chapter 7 (Primarily Business Expenses) 04/10/2008 FICO 468

Stock up on food and household supplies. Get dental care, eyeglasses, medical care for you and your immediate family, if needed. If you have children, buy them clothes (maybe one or two sizes bigger than they need now). If your car needs maintenance or new tires, use the money for that. These are all examples.

I'd also keep all receipts, just in case you get a zealous trustee. Mine asked if I had receipts, and I had them all in a file with me. I offered him the file and he said, "no, that's not necessary."
BK 7 filed and discharged in 2004 after 30+ years of perfect credit. Life HAPPENS.
