My tale is a long one, as i am sure everyone elses, and I will try not to depress you with all the details.
I fell into a bad relationship several years ago and it has cost me greatly. We are still together, not married, mainly because my wages were garnished and I can not afford to live alone until the garnishment is removed. (I am presently living in a house my brother owns and agreed to rent to me, but I have not even had the money to pay that rent. Luckily, he is my brother and does not need it right now.)
My attorney tells me I have to claim her income on the bankruptcy; I have to get six months of her current check stubs, etc.
In essence, she does very little to contribute to the living situation. She balks at the idea of being included, in whatever capacity that this applies.
My concern is whether her income would be added to mine and if that would make it impossible to fully discharge my debts how will I ever have the opportunity to be free of this situation?
Any input would be greatly appreciated,
M
