How long did you normally give you lawyer to return calls before you got worried. My Lawyer is paid in full and is normally pretty good about returning calls. last Thursday I left a message that I really needed to get a hold of him and did not hear back. Then I stopped by the office Friday to drop off the final paperwork for him to file. I e-mailed him on Monday to ensure he got the paperwork and also ask the question from Thursday. I called again today and still have not heard back. i am getting a little worried as we have not taken the pre BK counseling class, and need to sign paperwork and file this month.

Our lawyer has been great. We communicate exclusively by e-mail and return each other inquiries within hours. When I asked for his personal e-mail address, I promised not to bug him. He appreciated it and was more than happy to give it to me. It has worked great.

Monkatom, it occurred to me that if you have not already paid HIM the fee for the pre-filing credit counseling, you could go ahead and choose your vendor and do it today. If you've already paid him for that, you could still do it but then you'd have to try to get the $$$ back from him on it. BTW, the pre-filing thing is not intense or time consuming; I did mine online and it was over in an hour or so, so you still have plenty of time. I understand wanting to get it over with, though.
