I contacted Sallie Mae's Customer Advocate Unit (they all speak English, by the way) and raised holy you know what. I gave them a choice, they could either correct the incorrect reporting or I would get my attorney involved. They corrected the reporting.
They were wrong and knew it.
I found the main phone number for Sallie Mae and asked to speak to their Executive Complaint Department. They transferred me to their Customer Adovcate Unit. Again, the reporting is incorrect and yes, they do have to fix it.
