    Well, it's done...

Or should I say started? As of this morning we have filed Chapter 7.

We're giving up everything. House, 2nd mortgage, RV, truck, car and hopefully all our unsecured loans and cc debt.

    Wish us luck!

Thanks for all the advice/help everyone here has given - especially FreshAsADaisy, it really has helped us figure out what we needed to do.

P.S. I'm surprisingly calm about all this - should I not be?

P.S. It's not unusual that you would be calm now in a way that you haven't been in a long time: comparatively speaking, there's nothing left to worry about. You already did all your worrying, and now it's sort of a "what's done is done" wait. Enjoy the peace!

Good Luck. I'm glad you are calm! I was really calm and relieved when we first filed too, but the closer my 341 gets the more nervous and paranoid I get.

Yes, I'm trying not to think too much about that right now. My attorney said the judges and trustees in our district really want to see the debtors succeed - so hopefully the meeting will go smoothly and then we hopefully will just be waiting for our 60 days to be up like everyone else here.

Good luck at your 341, I'm sure it will go fine.

Yes, once you make that "decision"..... there is a kind of peace that comes over you....
THEN you get anxious "waiting it out" for the 341 meeting and the final discharge.

But once you make that "decision" - THAT IS WHEN THE HARD PART IS REALLY OVER..........

From there on out it is uphill all the way to "freedom".......

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
